Born as only son by Soprano Thea Linhard and the famous conductor Karl Boehm, Karheinz - as movie actor - had his breakthrough in Ernst Marischka' s Sissi-Films. Boehm played the Emperor Franz-Josef and the unforgettable Romy Schneiders Sissi.
Later he played the demented protagonist of Michael Powell's unforgettable "Peeping Tom" (1960); and towards the end of his film career he acted in several Rainer Werner Fassbinder films.
Since 1981 he dedicates his work to relieve hunger in Ethiopia.
