Rudolf Bockelmann (1892 - 1958 ) was a German Baritone and Kammersaenger. In 1932 Rudolf Bockelmann was enganged at the Berliner States Opera where he stayed till 1944. He sang in Bayreuth between 1928 and 1942. Er sang the Wagner roles like Wotan in Walkuere und the Wanderer in Rheingold as well as Siegfried. He became internationally well know due to concerts at Convent Garden Opera in London and in Chicago. In 1937 Bockelmann joined the NSDAP. In 1944 he was selected by Adolf Hitler as one of the most talented artists. The same year he started giving classes at the Reichshochschule for music in Salzburg.
