Siegfried Vogel made his debut in 1959. He was a regular artist of Staatsoper of Berlin, and performed there the great bass roles. He also sang on the stages of La Scala in Milan, Vienna, Munich, Dresden, Hamburg, Paris, Zuerich, Amsterdam, Covent Garden in London, San Francisco, New York, Madrid…..
He sang Hans Sachs King Henri at the Festival of Bayreuth and in Japan with Giuseppe Sinopoli, La Roche in Salzburg with Wolfgang Sawallisch, Gurnemanz in Washington with Heinz Fricke (and Placido Domingo in the title role), and also in Berlin with Daniel Baremboïm.
At the Salzburg Festival in 1979 he sang the Baron Ochs in Rosenkavalier.
