Sent by a soldier of the 16th regiment of the Infanterie Coloniale, Arsenal de l’ Est , sent to Graz in Austria.

Decorative Chinese leisure seal from the end of Qing – beginning of Republic Period, engraved by the seal carver Zhou Boshan (周白山).

Beige stone, pictorial side engraving and signed Si Xue (四雪).

As actual seal 12 characters are engraved (2 lines from a Song-Dynasty poem) ming-yue xian yan ye-yu, luo hua jing yong chun mian (明月闲延夜语,落花静拥春眠) The bright mood is idle, extending the night. Silently the petals of the flowers drop embracing the sleep of the spring.

29 x 27 x 39 mm, good condition.
