Antique Chinese seal by the important seal-carver Chen Yuzhong 陈豫钟( 1762—1806).

Oval boulder with 5 characters as actual seal: xiao sui ming yue gui 笑随明月归 (the smile follows the bright moon on its return).

Side inscription with his artists name Qiu Tang 秋堂.

Pair of Leisure Seals by the Xiling-artist Jiang Chengzhi

Pair of grey stone seals with lion and dragon as handle. Carved by the well known seal carver and calligrapher Jiang Changzhi 江成之, who was member of the important seal carver society, Xiling Yin-she since 1947.

Each seal with 7 characters:
秦皇島外打魚船 – Qinhuangdao wai da yu chuan (a fishing boat at the sea near Qinhuangdao- island)
一片汪洋都不見 – Yi pian wanyang dou bu jian (boundless water – nothing to be seen).

One of the seals with signature by the artist: 成之作 – Chengzhi zuo

江成之,原名文信,以字行。号履盦,别属亦静居。出生于一九二四年,浙江嘉兴人。一九四三年拜西泠印社创始人之一王福庵先生为师,苦学四年。一九四七年加入西泠印社,为解放前入社至今健在的西泠印社早期社员之一。中国书法家协会会员,上海市文史研究馆馆员,上海市书法家协会顾问。

   江老从事福王庵先生研习浙派的同时,兼收各家之长,其印以汉印文字及古墨章法,从浙派的切刀中回顾了汉人之锥凿,宋人之切玉,兼及徽派之冲刀;其作品在光洁中有著锐劲之势,平稳中寓险意,对王福庵先生的浙派篆刻艺术做了进一步推动与发扬。江老为人淳朴,印如其人,德艺双馨,堪称一代尊师。

Old Chinese leisure seal, brown-beige-grey stone, engraved by the artist (painter, calligrapher, seal-carver) 赵鹤琴 Zhao Heqin (1894 – 1971). As actual seal engraved are the characters: 长留天地间 chang liu tian-di jian (stay long between heaven and earth [means: to live long]).

A pair of attractive, valuable shou shan leisure seals by the important seal carver Wu Yifeng 吴一峰 (1907 – 1998).

As actual seal 8 characters have been carved: dan jiu ru xing 耽酒如性 (to abandon oneself to wine according ones nature) and: hao shi cheng chi 好诗成痴 ( a good poem making one crazy).

Each 26 x 26 x 41 mm and 30 mm. Good condition.

Signed at the front end Da Zou Ke 大走客, his artists name.

Wu Yifen was member of the Chinese Calligraphy Society and the Artist’s Association.

As actual seal 6 characters have been carved: 大块假我以文章 da kuai jia wo yi wenzhang (a long vacation which I will use to write an article).

Side engraving with signature. Ding Fuzhi was an important artist and member of the famous Xiling-seal-society.

丁辅之(1879年8月14日~1949年7月12日)近代篆刻家、书画家。原名仁友,后改名仁,字辅之,号鹤庐,又号守寒巢主,后以字行。浙江杭州人,系晚清著名藏书家“八千卷楼主人”丁松生从孙。其家以藏书之丰闻名于海内。嗜甲骨文,尝以甲骨文撰书楹联编成册,又喜篆刻,名印金石,代有收罗,尤以西泠八家印作为多。并擅画花卉瓜果,极其璀璨芳菲。幼承家学。一度同王禔供职于沪杭铁路局。公余之暇,探讨金石书画。
