China, Qing Dynasty: Dry walnut with unique carving of many monks, immortals or Lohans (disciples of Buddha) sitting or standing among trees. This carving is by a well-know Qing Dynasty artist.
4 cm, good condition, no blemishes, cracks or other faults.
Very attractive old Chinese Chicken-blood Seal Stone
Desirable Chinese seal stone, so called Ji Xue Shi (Chicken blood stone). It is meant for display, no seal engraving. The seal stone comes from an old collection from the end of Qing – beginning of Republic period. Quite some red spots on all 4 sides.

Size: 3,5 x 5 inches plus margins. The embroidery has been fixed in a frame so there are bends and some stains along the margin ( can be fixed by ironing it ).

Josef Vissarionovich Dzhugashvili, Ioseb Besarionis Dze Jughashvili; Russian: Iosif Vissarionovich Dzhugashvili, (1878 –1953), better known by his adopted name, Joseph Stalin (alternatively transliterated Josef Stalin), was General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union’s Central Committee from 1922 until his death in 1953. Stalin’s increasingly gained control of the Party from 1928 onwards and finally became the de facto party leader and the dictator of his country, in full control of the Soviet Union and its people. His crash programs of industrialization and collectivization in the 1930s and his campaigns of political repression cost the lives of millions of people. However it helped industrialize the Soviet Union making a Great power by 1931. By 1937 the Soviet Union had become the second largest industrial nation in the world.
Under Stalin’s leadership, the Soviet Union played the decisive role in the defeat of Nazi Germany in the Second World War (1939-45) more commonly know as The Great Patriotic War in Russia and post-Soviet republics and went on to achieve the status of superpower, expanding its territory to a size similar to that of the former Russian Empire excluding most of Finland, Poland and Alaska.
Emil Mario Vacano (1840 – 1892 ) was an Austrian artist, circus rider andauthor.
Emil Mario Vacano a queer figure, gay. When he was young he became famous as female (!) circus rider. Later he lived as nun in an Abbey . In his autobiographic works he appears as male figure with the female name Speranza, calling himself as “neat boy”, and at the same time a “vain maiden”. Even a well know duke was attracted by that.
Vacano had contact with Leopold von Sacher-Masoch. With the help of his friend Emerich von Stadion he published quite a few historic novels and stories.

China: Outstanding Qing Dynasty Teapot. Very attractive
Imperial China: Very attractive tea pot from the Mid Qing-Periode. Yixing-type, glazed, blue tines on dark brown subsurface. Floral decor, which almost looks like Art Deco. Square shape, unusual design.
Burned-in bottom seal: Hu Gong Ye Fu 壶公冶父. This refers to the famous producer of tea pots, Qu Yingshao 瞿应绍 (1780 – 1849).
Qu Yingshao’s works can be found in specialized books on antique Chinese tea post, his works are had to find, can be found in museums and are treasured among collectors.
7 x 4 x 5 inches. With guaranty that the object is older than 100 years.
The tea pot is in good condition, there are no cracks or fissures. At the bottom rim are 4 minor flaws. (Since the floral decor is convex, the borders of the deco- units easily can become chamfered)
The object really stands out when displayed since it’s design is so unusual and special.
