Stella Freifrau von Hohenfels-Berger, born Loderbank, (1857 - 1920) was an Austrian actress.
She was born to a wealthy family and first was educated at the Sacre Cœur in Paris and since 1870 in Stuttgart to polish her German language. There she started to feel attracted by theatre and had her debut - without any theater-education.
In 1873 she starred as Kaethchen von Heilbronn and as Luise in Kabale und Liebe at the Berliner Nationaltheater, later in Strassburg and in Switzerland.
The Director of the Vienna Burgtheater, Franz von Dingelstedt recommended her, on 30. Mai 1873, she successfully debuted as als Desdemona and after 1. September 1873 she had a fix engagement.
Stella von Hohenfels-Berger was the ideal „girl"-role: young, gracile and full of grace, the ideal actor for Iphigenie, Kaethchen, Minna von Barnhelm, Libussa, Harriet, Viola, Klaerchen, Ophelia, Esther and Maria Stuart.
