Winifred Wagner (born Winifred Marjorie Williams; 23 June 1897 – 5 March 1980) was the English-born wife of Siegfried Wagner, the son of Richard Wagner, and ran the Bayreuth Festival after her husband’s death in 1930 until the end of World War II in 1945. She was a friend and supporter of Adolf Hitler (himself a Wagner enthusiast), and she and Hitler maintained a regular correspondence.

Salvador Domingo Felipe Jacinto Dalí i Domènech, Marqués de Dalí de Pubol (1904 – 1989), known as Salvador Dalí was a prominent Spanish surrealist painter born in Figueres, Catalonia, Spain.

Dalí was a skilled draftsman, best known for the striking and bizarre images in his surrealist work. His painterly skills are often attributed to the influence of Renaissance masters.
His best-known work, The Persistence of Memory, was completed in August 1931. Dalí’s expansive artistic repertoire included film, sculpture, and photography, in collaboration with a range of artists in a variety of media.

Walter Slezak (May 3, 1902 – April 21, 1983) was an Austrian actor, the son of famed opera star Leo Slezak.

In his early movie career, before he gained weight, Slezak was cast as a thin leading man in silent films. He also acted on the stage for many years, debuting on Broadway in 1930.

His first American film was 1942’s Once Upon a Honeymoon, opposite Ginger Rogers and Cary Grant. He worked steadily and appeared in over 100 films including The Princess and the Pirate, The Spanish Main, Sindbad the Sailor, Born to Kill, Call Me Madam, and Treasure Island.

Slezak played the lead in Broadway musicals, including Fanny, for which he won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical.

Jochen Rindt (1942-1970) World champion 1970, deceased 1970 during training for the Italian Grand Prix.
Jochen Rindt was born in Mainz, Germany, but after his parents were killed in a bombing raid in the Second World War, he moved to live with his grandparents in Graz, Austria, where he grew up and started motor racing.
Despite being very successful in Formula 2 (by winning for instance the 1964 London Trophy), Rindt kept on choosing the wrong F1 cars.

Nikolaus Harnoncourt (1929 – 2016) was an Austrian conductor, particularly known for his historically informed performances of music from the Classical era and earlier.
Starting out as a classical cellist, he founded his own period instrument ensemble, Concentus Musicus Wien, in the 1950s, and became a pioneer of the Early Music movement.
Around 1970, Harnoncourt started to conduct opera and concert performances, soon leading renowned international symphony orchestras, and appearing at leading concert halls, operatic venues and festivals.
His repertoire then widened to include composers of the 19th and 20th centuries. In 2001 and 2003, he conducted the Vienna New Year’s Concert. Harnoncourt was also the author of several books, mostly on subjects of performance history and musical aesthetics.

Robert Freerick Xenon Geldof, KBE, known as Bob Geldof (born 1951), is an Irish singer, songwriter, actor and political activist. In 1975 Geldof became the lead singer of the band The Boomtown Rats, a rock group closely linked with the punk movement. In the year of 1978, The Boomtown Rats had their first No. 1 single in the UK with “Rat Trap”, which was the first New Wave chart-topper in that country.

In 1979, the group shot to international fame with their second UK No. 1, “I Don’t Like Mondays”.This was equally successful, as well as controversial; Geldof wrote it in the aftermath of Brenda Ann Spencer’s attempted massacre at an elementary school across the street from her house in San Diego, California, at the beginning of 1979.

On the 31 March 2005, Geldof and Ure announced the Live 8 project, to raise awareness of issues that burden Africa, such as government debt, trade barriers, and AIDS issues. Geldof organised six concerts with U2, Elton John, Pink Floyd, The Who, Madonna, Paul McCartney, Duran, Brian Wilson, Crosby Stills & Nash, Bon Jovi, Linkin Park, Dave Matthews, Stevie Wonder, Neil Young, Bryan Adams, Deep Purple and many more. Pink Floyd’s performance in London was its first since 1981 to include original bassist, Roger Waters.

William Clark Gable (1901 – 1960), known as Clark Gable, was an American film actor most famous for his role as Rhett Butler in the 1939 Civil War epic film Gone with the Wind, in which he starred with Vivien Leigh.

His performance earned him his third nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actor; he won for It Happened One Night (1934) and was also nominated for Mutiny on the Bounty (1935).

Later movies included Run Silent, Run Deep, a submarine war film, and his final film, The Misfits (1961), which paired Gable with Marilyn Monroe, also in her last screen appearance. In 1999, the American Film Institute named Gable seventh among the greatest male stars of all time. He was nicknamed ‘The King of Hollywood.’
