China: Decorative, antique ink slab in shape of a bell. Engraved reverse and sides. Gu hanshan-si (old monk Hanshan temple, – 古砚 古寒山寺).

Size: 4,9 x 6,8 x 1 inches (12,2 x 17 x 2,5 cm), 818 gram, used, in good shape with no blemishes.

Two antique Chinese paintings Qing Dynasty

China 19. century (Dao Guang 1821-1851): Two paintings on silk, delicately executed. One shows a pair of herons, one a pair of Mandarin-ducks (Symbol of love).

Both were officially examined in China and a tag was added at the reverse (fixed with a yarn to the painting).

25,5 x 29 cm (10 x 11,5 inches) are the paintings, 30 x 37 (12 x 15 in.) incl. margins.

Some glue remnants at reverse as the sheets have been fixed in an album.

Salvador Domingo Felipe Jacinto Dalí i Domènech, Marqués de Dalí de Pubol (1904 – 1989), known as Salvador Dalí was a prominent Spanish surrealist painter born in Figueres, Catalonia, Spain.

Dalí was a skilled draftsman, best known for the striking and bizarre images in his surrealist work. His painterly skills are often attributed to the influence of Renaissance masters.
His best-known work, The Persistence of Memory, was completed in August 1931. Dalí’s expansive artistic repertoire included film, sculpture, and photography, in collaboration with a range of artists in a variety of media.

Chinese Silk Painting of a Peke, framed

Cute old Chinese painting, depicting a Pekingese (Peke). Delicate painting in gongbi-technique, ink and colors on silk.
Matted in traditional Chinese way and later on put in a western frame. Size: 6 x 8 inches ist he actual painting – 11,2 x 13,2 inches is the frame.

Some soiling at the cardboard at the reverse not affecting the painting. The painting is from the first half of last century, Small red artist’s chop at lower left corner.

Autographs by Franz West are hard to find.

Franz West is an Austrian artist who currently resides in Vienna. West studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna with Bruno Gironcoli.

His first works included “ Passstuecke “ in 1976, and metal sculpture / furniture in the mid-eighties.

He held many exhibitions in Europe and overseas, including famous US galleries.

One of his sculptures could be found at the Broadway between 62 and 65th Streets & Doris C. Freedman Plaza, Fifth Avenue and 60th Street.

Size: 5.9 x 4 in.

This is an invitation card for his exhibition in Germany in 1996.

He deliberately signed very close to the upper margin. The card has not been cut, complete, in fine condition.
