Yuan Songnian Fan Painting with Landscape from 1948

Atmospheric landscape painting on a fan by the important Chinese painter Yuan Songnian (1895-1966).

Mounted, 67,5 x 40 cm. Wear at the margins, the fan itself is clean with no faults – just normal aging.

Yuan Songnian was member of the “Hai-Pai” (Shanghai-school), graduated at the St. John’s University, was teacher at the Academy in Shanghai, and leading member of the Shanghai Artist’s  Association.
